Mario The Magnificant
Mario Lemieux entered the NHL in the 1984-85 season and scored a goal on his first shift. From there on, he became one of the most impressive individual talents the game has ever witnessed. His 690 goals, 1,033 assists and 1,723 career points ranks him 7th all time in NHL scoring. Witness Super Mario’s Top 10 plays.
Pavel Datsyuk With Some Dastyukian Dekes
The Detroit Red Wings star is one of the most insanely gifted players to ever lace up the skates. Datsyuk is remarkably intelligent and innovative with the puck on his stick. Datsyuk has 255 goals, 512 assists, for 767 points in 779 games. Datsyuk ranks 6th all time in Red Wings scoring. Watch the highly deceptive and ultra smooth Pavel Datsyuk score some of the nicest goals of the new millennium.
Pure Brilliance From Alexei Kovalev
Very few NHLers have played the game with as much raw skill and natural finesse. Alexei Kovalev could deke out defenders and wire shots past goaltenders with the best of them. Kovalev scored with authority. His 430 goals, 599 assists and 1,029 points make him one of only 79 NHL players to hit the 1,000 point milestone.
The Puck Handling Perfection Of Patrick Kane
The 24 year old American sniper is best known for his ridiculous ability to possess the puck, set up others, and score important goals in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Kane is one of the best playmakers in the NHL, but he sure can score when he wants to. With 149 goals, 275 assists, and a total of 424 points in only 446 games, Patrick Kane is well on his way to a Hall of Fame career. Enjoy his 10 best goals.
Sid The Kid – Crosby
Since joining the National Hockey League at the beginning of the 2005-06 NHL season, Sidney Crosby has dominated offensively. With an Art Ross and Rocket Richard to his name, not only does Crosby score a lot he also does it with style. Only 26 years young, Crosby already boasts a stat line of legendary proportions. The game’s best player has 238 goals, 427 assists, and 665 points in a mere 470 games. He is a shoe in to hit 1,000 points before 30 years old. Watch Sidney Crosby dominate.
The Great 8 Alexander Ovechkin
Alex Ovechkin is pure goalscoring dynamite. The Washington Capitals #8 has been firing pucks home at an incredible rate since joining the NHL back in 2005-06. Ovie is electrifying, dynamic, and strong as an ox. He can burry with a rapid wrist shot or deke with finesse and flair. Alex’s impressive career totals are bordering on unbelievable. He has 371 goals and 364 assists, for 735 points in 601 career games. He is on pace to score well over 500 career goals, possibly into the 600’s or even 700’s if he can maintain his current excellent level of play for a long period of time. Here’s an example of the goal scoring machine – Alex Ovechkin.
The Great One – Wayne Gretzky
The greatest player to ever play the game of hockey became well known for his prowess as a playmaker in the second half of his career. However, in the 80’s Wayne was scoring goals at an unmatched pace, including an NHL record 92 goals in 1981-82. Although Wayne Gretzky scored some pretty ones, it was his flair for dramatics that made for some of his best NHL goal scoring moments. The Great One scored 894 goals, 1,963 assists, for 2,857 career points in 1,487 NHL games. He is the all time leader in goals, assists and points and it’s not even close. Marvel at the Great One’s incredible accomplishments and magical moments in the NHL.
The Russian – Rocket Pavel Bure
Very few combined skating and scoring like Pavel Bure. The two-time 60 goal scorer could get a crowd on its feet, nightly, with some of the most high-flying moves and maneuvers the hockey world has ever seen. Bure scored an incredible 437 goals, 342 assists, for 779 points in 702 games. The Russian Rocket has the 3rd highest goals per game in NHL history. Injuries cut his career short, but before he hung up the skates Bure scored some absolute stunners. Have a look at these jaw dropping snipes by the Russian Rocket.
The Ageless Wonder Jaromir Jagr
Jaromir Jagr is no longer the Art Ross winning beast he was in the 1990’s, but he’s still a solid NHLer. However, in his glory days, he was one of the most decisive finishers in the world. Jagr was hockey’s most hard to handle combination of size, speed, skill and scoring, possibly ever. Jagr’s career is defined by its quality and longevity. He’s scored 681 goals, 1,007 assists, 1,688 points in 1,391 NHL games ranking him 8th all time in scoring. He’s accomplished much, but he’ll always be remembered for his dominant ability to score some of the most beautiful individual goals in hockey history.
