Alex Ovechkin scored his 10th goal of the season tonight against the Edmonton Oilers. That’s 10 tallies in 10 games for the Great 8. Obviously, the math is simple here. If he continues to score at a goal a game pace he will finish the season with 82. That’s a lot to expect, especially in an Olympic year, however, if anyone can hit the 80’s in goals scored, it’s probably Ovechkin.
Ovechkin’s goal was a lethal product of his incredible shooting ability. The Caps’ captain finished a set play off the draw, drilling a laser beam top shelf on bewildered Oilers’ goaltender Devan Dubnyk. Final score, Caps 4 Oilers 1. Ovechkin goal courtesy of the NHL YouTube Channel.
