If you aren’t familiar with the name Alex Chiasson, that will likely change over the course of the 2013-14 NHL season. He’s a big right winger on the Dallas Stars, and his career is off to an incredible start.
Chiasson has scored 9 goals in his 11 career NHL games. Pretty good start.
The Stars 2nd round pick from 2009 plays on a line with some heavy offensive hitters. He flanks C Tyler Seguin and LW Jamie Benn, forming one of the most potent scoring lines in the National Hockey League.
With so many great rookies in the league this year, Chiasson is a front runner in the race for the Calder.

It’s premature to suggest, Chiasson is one of those special rookies who can score 50 goals, because we are only 4 games into the season. But he’s off to a terrific start with 3 goals in 4 games.
Only four NHL players have scored 50 goals in their rookie season, and they all became superstars. Mike Bossy, Joe Nieuwendyk, Teemu Selanne and Alex Ovechkin accomplished the milestone number as first year players. At the moment, it’s far fetched to think Chiasson can join this list of NHL legends, but you never know. He’s in a perfect situation to score regularly.
