Every day, it seems, there is a new Brad Marchand story. Two weeks ago he was kneed in the head by Penguins sniper James Neal. Last Saturday the Little Ball of Hate was criticized for mocking the Vancouver Canucks and fans with the kissing of an invisible Stanley Cup ring, and the hoisting of a phantom Stanley Cup. Marchand has the ring and won the Cup, back in 2011, scoring two goals in Game 7 on Vancouver ice.
Marchand was at it again last night, this time not the victim of on attack, nor the perpetrator of an agitation – Marchand landed a hit-from-behind on Calgary Flames prized rookie Sean Monahan. The hit can be witnessed by clicking this link to The Score.
According to CSNNE Bruins reporter Joe Haggarty, Marchand will not be subject to a disciplinary hearing with the NHL:
No hearing planned for Brad Marchand on boarding of Sean Monahan last night. Nothing rising to supplemental discipline after 2 min penalty
