Boston Bruins: Johnny Boychuk leaves game on stretcher, suffers lower-back injury

At 4:28 of the first period between the NHL’s most storied rivals, the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins, B’s defenceman Johnny Boychuk was hit from behind by Habs winger Max Pacioretty, causing him to lie on the ice in agony until he was eventually wheeled off on a stretcher.

According to The Boston Globe, Bruins head coach Claude Julien does not think Pacioretty should be disciplined by the league for the hit:
