The trade deadline is tomorrow at 3:00 PM Eastern, but Anaheim Ducks general manager Bob Murray may think today is the last day to make trades. Within the span of ten minutes, the Anaheim Ducks announced three transactions, sending Twitter into a frenzy.
The Ducks moved backup goaltender Viktor Fasth to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a 2014 fifth-round pick and a 2015 third-round pick:

Then, for what seems like a very fair price, the Ducks acquired veteran defenceman Stephane Robidas from the Dallas Stars in exchange for a fourth-round pick:

And, in what is perceived as an attempt to clear up salary cap space for a possible bigger deal, the Ducks traded winger Dustin Penner to the Washington Capitals for a fourth-round draft selection:

The Twitterverse is claiming the Anaheim Ducks may be close to completing a deal with the New York Islanders to acquire scoring left-winger Thomas Vanek:
#Ducks really interesting . They continue to try and free up money in what is expected to be for something bigger. Vanek a possibility.
