Ottawa Senators: Goaltender Craig Anderson leaves game on a stretcher

The struggling (4-6-4) Ottawa Senators suffered a serious blow today when goaltender Craig Anderson was forced out of a game against the Dallas Stars. Anderson has a history of injury – he missed 18 games in 2012-13 with a high ankle sprain. Today’s incident has the potential to be more serious.

On a play in overtime, Stars 2013 1st round pick, Valeri Nichushkin collided with the Sens netminder, leaving him down and dazed. Anderson remained on the ice for a while and was eventually wheeled off on a stretcher, while giving a thumbs up to the hometown fans.
