After a six-week hiatus, New York Rangers power-forward Rick Nash will return to the lineup tonight against the Boston Bruins. Nash has been missing in action since taking an elbow to the head on October 8th against the San Jose Sharks. He’s been practicing with the club since the weekend, and was expected to rejoin the lineup tonight when it was announced yesterday that forward Brandon Mashinster would be returning to the team’s AHL affiliate in Hartford.
Nash’s presence in the Rangers lineup was greatly missed over the first quarter of the 2013-14 regular season. Number 61 led the club in goals a season ago with 21 – his lack of available production has assisted in slotting the Blueshirts 26th in goals scored in the NHL.
