Since the third game of the 2013-14 NHL season the New York Rangers have been without superstar winger Rick Nash who suffered a concussion after taking an elbow to the head from San Jose Sharks’ defenceman Brad Stuart. Concussions rarely have a predictable timeline, therefore, Nash’s return date was, and still is unknown. That being said, he is making progress and could be back in the Blueshirts’ lineup as soon as tomorrow night against the Boston Bruins.
Steve Zipay of Newsday tweeted today the following regarding Nash’s health status and possible return date:
#NYR have returned Brandon Mashinter to Hartford. Sounds as if Rick Nash will dress, as he was targeting, possibly tomorrow or Thursday

The Rangers could have used the scoring services of Rick Nash last night in a 1-0 loss to the visiting Los Angeles Kings. Nash’s club was defeated despite firing 37 shots at L.A. netminder Ben Scrivens, who has been excellent in Jonathan Quick‘s absence.
Tomorrow’s contest against the Bruins marks the first game between the two Original 6 rivals since the Rangers were eliminated in five games against Boston in the second round of the 2013 Stanley Cup playoffs.
