Stop the presses! Toronto Maple Leafs sniper Phil Kessel was not at practice today because of a bout with the flu according to Mark Masters of TSN. His absence is worrisome for a Leafs team that has recently battled several injuries to key forwards, not helped by a 3-game suspension to centre Nazem Kadri.

The Leafs next game is tomorrow night at the Air Canada Centre against the unpredictable New York Islanders. Both clubs desperately need two-points in what is becoming an Eastern Conference playoff race that allows very little room for error. There is no evidence stating Kessel will miss tomorrow’s contest versus John Tavares’ Isles, so, no need to panic in Leaf Land.

For further updates on Kessel’s current health status, stay updated by following Leafs reporters Jonas Siegel, James Mirtle, and David Alter.  Between the three of them, you won’t miss a single thing about the Leafs, ever.

Leafs centre Tyler Bozak appears ready to make his return to the Buds lineup in the very near future. Bozak competed in full practice today according to this article by the Toronto Star.
